Advancement Officer
The University of Evansville seeks a Advancement Officer to join our Major Gifts team. This full-time position reports to the Senior Director of Major Gifts and plays a key role in securing both restricted and unrestricted gifts from corporate and foundation donors. The ideal candidate will have strong research, relationship-building, and grant-writing skills to advance the University's fundraising efforts.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, research, and rate corporations and foundations as potential funding sources.
- Develop and execute cultivation and solicitation strategies for top-tier prospects.
- Increase corporate donations, particularly unrestricted gifts.
- Write compelling grant proposals and coordinate submission processes.
- Maintain relationships with corporate and foundation representatives for ongoing cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- Prepare correspondence for the President’s Office related to corporate and foundation partnerships.
- Track and maintain accurate financial statistics, grant agreements, and reporting documentation.
- Coordinate the external funding approval process and advise faculty, administrators, and student organizations on fundraising opportunities.
- Collaborate with the Office of Fiscal Affairs on award setup, budget modifications, reporting, and closeout processes.
- Manage corporate and foundation relations website content and updates.
- Participate in professional development events and assist with university fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Fundraising and grant-writing experience preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and project management abilities.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Additional Requirements: Some evening and weekend work required; limited travel possible.
